DRR has been pretty much staffed to run a pair of cars this year, and they have extra people in their shop since they will likely run 3 cars at the 500 (that too hasn't officially been announced).
We do not have any official confirmation on the DRR driver yet, but we think it will be Darren Manning. - Trackside Online
Darren Manning will drive for Dreyer & Reinbold at St. Pete. - Curt Cavin
Is it just me or is that an unbelievably jigorumous surprise?
ReplyDeleteBut props to Darren for pulling it out.
Well well well...That is a surprise for sure.
ReplyDeleteSo, in less than an hour, we've got Manning on the field, Scheckter in the car at St Pete, Tags in the conquest ride. Milka gone. Hotwheels! Versus, RHR, Izod commercials, and anything else I'm missing. Anyone elses head spinning from the Tsunami of good news? How did the offseason go from dire to WOW in a week.
ReplyDeleteYeah, what a crazy turnaround. Wait a minute...what's today's date? We're going to have to revisit all of this stuff tomorrow, and then we'll see how much of it is real...
ReplyDeleteOh god, please let this be true! I loves me some Danger Mouse like Danger Mouse loves him some beer and golf!
ReplyDeleteOne-race deal for now, although DM mentioned it's "possible" we could see him at Long Beach.

MORE PINTS OF BEER!
ReplyDeleteDarren Manning?
ReplyDeleteThat must be an April Fool's post. DM didn't bring $$$ to Ganassi or Foyt & now he has sponsorship to bring to Team (blank)???
OOPS my computer freaked & I posted in the wrong place... sorry
ReplyDeleteOOPS again
ReplyDeleteI meant to say I've now read DM is NOT bringing $$$ & this is a deal for St. Pete only?
Earlier today John said: D&R is the IRL's Island of Misfit Toys.
ReplyDeleteIs that nicer than a ship of fools?
ReplyDeleteI should be more nice on Fools Day + they have been a loyal OW participant.
