But I very much agree with you that it just makes a whole lot more sense to have an American driver in a car covered with the American National Guard. I expect Foyt will make Meira his main driver again and dump RHR who has been underperforming, regardless of how much he talks about the importance of American drivers. IZOD will put pressure on IndyCar to get RHR a ride someplace, and I doubt TG will run a second car largely unsponsored, or replace Carpenter.

There are too many experienced drivers (employed and unemployed) because of the split, which is why few people would take a chance on a rookie at the moment when there are so many underemployed experienced drivers someone could take instead. Most rookies will have to buy their rides, as indicated by all the rookies except Matos this year (I didn't think Conway was paying, but read somewhere that apparently he is?) Matos broke through but he had to win both Atlantics and Lights to do it. I don't see Hildebrand in IndyCar next year, whether he deserves it or not. If CART owners couldn't find a ride for Jon Fogarty or Alex Gurney, instead choosing ride buyers, and pretty much the same owners are doing the hiring now...Seanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12950554180169807781noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25142730.post-22247786978026991852009-09-02T16:21:07.562-07:002009-09-02T16:21:07.562-07:00I like the Memo Gidley comment,... unfortunately, ...I like the Memo Gidley comment,... unfortunately, it will never happen.

As for J.R. I am still holding out a little hope that AGR converts enough sponsors to field JR on 2010as they are a better ride to begin with. If Luzco were to find another sponsor and field a second car, JR would fit the primary sponsorship deal there also. Matos could pick up the new colors.

I had a suggestion for AGR in one of my recent Posts. Now that JR has the Lights title wrapped up - wouldn't it be a grand gesture to field him in a 5th AGR car at Homestead??

The last place I really want to see JR right now is in USF1. I am being selfish but ICS, relatively speaking, is just way more important to me than USF1. Rumors have Summerton headed there anyway. I just don't care about a series that fields utterly uncompetitve races, none of which are on my own continent.JPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04984813506930468025noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25142730.post-66868382489202996162009-09-02T10:58:54.467-07:002009-09-02T10:58:54.467-07:00Hell,

Even more frustrating is the fact that there are several current IRL drivers who would be better off driving a cab, (for everyone elses sake), that have major funding. Unfortunately, with the financial climate the way that it is I don't see any of that changing any time soon. I certainly hope that JRH might be able to work something out, but if something is not done soon to bring competition back to IRL racing, JRH getting a ride may all be a moot point.... OK, OK ... I'll stop trying to cheer you up.
