I've already got my "toasted baguette" references at the ready for any DNFs he might incur.Iannuccihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15120192496901254768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25142730.post-13002482716828634962010-03-22T18:15:17.175-07:002010-03-22T18:15:17.175-07:00Baggette, or whatever is a good driver, but, so ar...Baggette, or whatever is a good driver, but, so are John Sumerton, John Edwards, and J.R. Hildebrand, and they ALL don't have a ride. In fact, the only driver from Atlantic's and Lights last year with a full time ride is Simona, who I like, but still, all THREE American's couldn't land a ride, that's a little ridiculous. NASCAR's development ladder is also plagued with issue's, but at least both Lagano and Keselowski both made it to good cup rides.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25142730.post-2319015012543820182010-03-22T11:29:52.965-07:002010-03-22T11:29:52.965-07:00@Dex: Yes, I'm aware of JPM & Bourdais. Bourdais was also a hot name in F1 circles (along with F3000 champ).

Hopefully "Bread-Boy" has Alex Zanardi's or Mad Max Papis' BOLD personality (& driving talent). This series needs some home grown talent to get a foot hold.

BTW, this is coming from someone who was a rabid Emerson Fittipaldi fan when I had the choice of Rick Mears, Danny Sullivan & Al Unser Jr (as USA drivers)Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14500206961007927764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25142730.post-55129057600036675572010-03-22T09:29:43.735-07:002010-03-22T09:29:43.735-07:00"Yes the series needs American drivers but it..."Yes the series needs American drivers but it also needs the best emerging young talent from wherever it comes from. WTF in the American media gives two steaming piles about a Belgian junior driver signing on in the Indycar "big show"?

More importantly, why should American OW fans give a d*mn?? JR Hildebrand is the Indy Lights CHAMP & he was running in ALMS this weekend. So many N/A OW grads are now driving sports cars & even NASCAR while funded Belgians, Brazilians, & Venezuelans fill the field up in "top shelf" Indycar?

I know economic realities... but foreign ride buyers in the 90's were F1 WDC's or at least very talented guys that reached F1 & were saddled with weak teams. Ex drivers (or even champions) from F2, F3 or any other far away junior championship means ZERO to 98% of the IICS fan base & yea... the MEDIA who will cover (& promote) the sport.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14500206961007927764noreply@blogger.com
