The week of improbabilities continues.
Milka Duno has revealed that she will embark on her second season in the Indycar Series after switching teams and signing with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing to drive the #23 CITGO-sponsored Dallara.There's nothing real in the world anymore.
Once again, as in her seven-event debut campaign in 2007, the Venezuelan will only contest selected races this season, but will join the rest of the field at this week's Homestead-Miami Speedway test session, before decamping to Sebring International Raceway next week for her first taste of an IRL car in road course guise.

actually she carries CITGO sponsorship with her, I'm sure D&R just saw the dollar signs, and all they need to do is pony up small sponsorships for the remaining races, get Townsend Bell in the car and they qualify for TEAM...
ReplyDeleteI bash her too but in all honesty we can't fully judge her until after this season cause we'll have an actual controlled test. new SAMAX team vs. experienced D&R... if there no improvement, its on Milka for sure...

ReplyDeleteThe best news here ... she's running part-time (and probably part-time on roadies & Indy). My hope is DRR will have another driver whose initials are Buddy Lazier or Townsend Bell ready to run their second car the rest of the season, and they use the Citgo money to fund Buddy Rice's ride, much as they did with Fisher's $$ last year.
Please, please, P-dog, Jeff, Jennifer...can we find a way to start a grass roots campaign to get Sarah a ride? If any of you guys can come up with a fund, I'll put in the first $100. I don't want to say anything bad about Milka, in fact I hope she proves us all wrong. I just don't want to see Sarah get lost in the shuffle and lose a ride because I think she could really do something in a real car. It’s a shame she’s never really gotten an opportunity driving a D&R car. Sorry D&R.
