Women's appreciation day

Ladies, please forgive me for catering to the gentlemen by taking a moment to celebrate two women of IndyCar not named Danica. We love the cars, the speed, the competition, the famous drivers, but might we also find a little love in our hearts for the likes of Lauren Bohlander and Cyndie Allemann? Oh yes, we might indeed.

I could talk about how Bohlander is doing a wonderful job after stealing this gig from Arni the Indy Insider, or how Allemann scored two Top 10s this past weekend at St Pete... but you’re probably still enjoying the video and haven’t made it this far down in the post. That’s understandable.

In related news, Julianne Hough will be singing the national anthem at Indy. Oh happy day!

Mrs. mmack keeps wanting Helio! to win the 2008 Indy 500, and propose to Julianne in Victory Lane. Her rationale? "They're perfect together!"

    :^/

"And here's Castroneves climbing the fence after joining the select group of three time Indy 500 champions."

    "Jooooolianne! I LOVE YOUUUUU!!!"

    :^P

  5. In all seriousness, what ever happened to Leilani Munter, who consented to an interview with and link from Pressdog last year? It was great to see her race at Chicagoland last year, but she's fallen off the radar screen for '08.

  6. PAnther Q&A keeps saying they're working on a deal with Munter

  7. Munter and Beatriz are my fav female drivers...i just wish munter gets another chance as well as for Beatriz to get a win as a first female driver to do so. Would have done it if it wasnt for her teammate.

  8. To carry over the British slang theme from the other post, I wonder how many of you know what the word 'munter' means over here....

No offence to the lady in question, who is most definitely not a munter! :-)

  9. If Beatriz wins in Indy Lights, she won't be the first woman to win at that level. Katherine Legge.

    Would be cool, though.

At that level, no, but in the Indy Racing League, yes. Presuming of course they haven't already imported that historical database they purchased.

  11. Fair enough. Though once you drop down to the D-League, it's tougher for me to make such distinctions.
