I agree with anonymous... You're not missing much. The TK incident was the most exciting part of the race and not really in a good way. Oh yeah Mike Conway had fast lap of the race WTF
With "races" like this, its probably a good thing nobody is watching on TV anymore.
It sullies the name and reputation of American Open Wheel Racing, with lame parades and nobody/whogivesacrap drivers that dominate Indy Car Racing nowadays.

Had I but known that Jeff didn't have time for his typically funny and unique take on Sunday's race, I would have taken the time to sit down and write up a recap. However, mrs. mmack held an "Italian Sunday Dinner" yesterday, and, well, somebody had to grill the sausages and peppers and make sure they didn't burn. Although given the posts here, it may be possible watching sweet and hot Italian sausage links and pepper slices grill was a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
From what I saw of yesterday's race, I can say I don't know why everyone's so all fired hot to get Cleveland back on the schedule. Edmonton offered up a smaller scale version of the typical "Let's send 20+ cars through a sweeping, narrowing first turn at full throttle and see who crashes" start Cleveland made famous.
Right about now, if I'm Tony Kanaan, I'm asking Dale Coyne how much money I need to bring to his team for 2010.
Sad as it is to say, TK's rolling Weber Grill moment was the only IRL video highlight on Wind Tunnel last night.
I'm of mixed emotions with Will Power winning: On one hand, it's good to see a new face in Victory Circle. On the other hand, a Penske-Penske-Ganassi-Penske-Ganassi top five is about as exciting as the Ferrari-McLaren-then somebody else if the Ferraris and McLarens break that F1 used to be in the late 1990's - early part of this decade.
Speaking of McLaren and Ferrari, congrats to Lewis Hamilton, and prayers and good wishes to Felipe Massa after this weekend.

ReplyDeleteCleveland provides much better race, more opportunities to catch up and more passing.
I think Edmonton is a little too expansive.
Oh, that and most of the drivers are driving around like a bunch of grannies protecting their precious points, rather than actually $@#!% RACING!
