Danica goes green

Our long national nightmare is over. At last, there is an official contract announcement from Danica Patrick!

Danica Patrick confirmed a sponsor deal to drive an IndyCar for the next three years on Monday -- and her plans to drive a part-time schedule for JR Motorsports in NASCAR's Nationwide Series in 2010 remain on track as well, a source close to Patrick said.

Patrick unveiled the GoDaddy.com-sponsored Indy car she will drive for Andretti Autosport on Monday in a Good Morning America appearance. The company said in a statement that the deal to drive the car is through 2012.

That, according to the source, had to take place before she could finalize any plans in NASCAR.

Jay Busbee of From the Marbles calls this news "underwhelming". Sorry, N-word fans. The rest of you can check out her new neon green ride.

  1. It looks like somebody puked all over that promotional picutre.

Oh. This is not good. My eyes are going to be bleeding by lap 4 of every single race. Well, I suppose that's _if_ Dani's actually shown on the screen...not necessarily likely if Chip and Roger beat down the field like in '09.

  2. As we're never short to judge aesthetics at FW; this car is a huge win (so long as Scott Sharp isn't returning) its unique, and unmistakable from the other cars... that said I'm sure Danica fans are loving needing to buy new gear for the 3rd time in less than a year.

  5. I do like the "chrome horn" on the front there though.

  6. Allen: Scott Sharp is NOT returning... he will be running a GT2 class PATRON Ferrari 430 in ALMS.

As for the Acid(or Puke) Green: Its a Pimp Daddy corporate color... really a surprise that it would be used on her Dallara? Really?? I'm thankful AA retained a large amount of black on the livery

My crits are loose the goof-ball corporate "Daddy" icon & that the silver (chrome) nose looks completely foreign to the Black/ Green/ & Orange trim. Tony's 7-Eleven colors won't exactly flow with the chrome nose tip either. (JMO) Other than that minor stuff... I kinda dig it!!!
