The new guy shows some personality

No offense to the "insiders" who glance over this humble site, but most of us don't know much about Ryan Hunter-Reay other than (1) he once drove Champ Cars, (2) he now drives the Ethanol #17 for Rahal Letterman Racing, and (3) he's very tall. Thanks to the Cleveland Plain Dealer though, we now know he's also kinda witty.

So Ryan, what's it like taking over another driver's ride?

"You feel like you're with someone else's girlfriend...for a second."
Thank you. Having some personality is good.

By the way, if you read the whole article you can read quotes from Sam Hornish Jr about how he wants to drive 400 MPH and set land speed records. Huh? Sounds like maybe we've gotten this NAPCAR thing wrong all year and Uncle Sam really wants to join the NHRA.

    Six one isn't that tall.

For an IndyCar driver it is. I don't think any other regular is within 3 inches of that height.

I think Scheckter and Hornish are around 6 feet, aren't they? It seems like they tower over most of the other drivers.

I can't believe a little remark about Hunter's height has come to this. Scheckter and Hornish are both listed as 5-11, so he's about 2 inches above if you believe such things.

Man, we must be bored if this is the comment subject du jour. How many days until Michigan?

AJ Foyt IV is 6'1" too.

whoops, per Vision Racing's bio, Quattro's 6'0" ... but I don't believe it. I'm 6'1" and he seems taller face to face. Either that or I cower in fear being close to anyone with the last name of Foyt.

Sam? 5'11"? I hope so, because that means I'm 5'11", which I ain't. More like 5'8". Quattro is call. But 6-foot-anything is HUGE for an open wheel driver.

I'm 6'5 so most everyone is short to me, but having sat in the mock up at the museum in Indy I realized I'd have never fit in an Indy car--one of the most depressing experiences I'd ever had. I can't wait to go to Michigan. My first time at a track not Indy.

OK, I might as well weigh in. I am just over 5' 11" and I was really snug inside of that Dallara last week, for what it's worth...

I'm 5'5" so I'd fit in an Indy car just fine. If Ryan is 6'1" though, Beccy Gordon is either an Amazon or likes really high heels because she seems taller than him.

    I really envy her LOL.

I saw this on another forum - any truth? I highly doubt it.

Strong rumor today out of Mid Ohio has Danica being released by AGR at the end of the season.

I'm not sure about that rumor, after all it is a rumor, but I checked into it anyway and found nothing except several blogs claiming she's a NASCAR driver.

    For example....

    Ugh....*bangs head against wall*

With the sponsorship package they've gotten, and her consistent improvement--I'd say it's unlikely. Did Robin Miller start it?
