John Andretti will remain in the seat of the #24 Roth Racing Dallara-Honda for this weekend's Iowa Corn 250 IndyCar Series race in Newton, Iowa.In a related note, Howard will be on the Autosport Radio program tonight at 7PM ET, discussing how he's using his newly found free time to become super awesome at things like knitting and scrapbooking.
This will be Andretti's 4th consecutive race in the #24 Roth Racing entry. He joined the team at Indianapolis, where he moved up from his 21st starting position to finish one lap back in 16th, and qualified an impressive 7th at the last race in Texas, equaling the best ever IndyCar Series start for Roth Racing, set by Marty Roth earlier this year at Kansas.

Ole Marty is making Jay do the "dead mans float" in the Iowa waters too. Why doesn't he just hire Andretti for the year and get it overwith so Jay can look for a real ride.

The best scenario would be that John parlays this stint with Roth into a better ride and Jay steps back in. Why else would Jay stick around and not ask for an opt out of the deal with Marty? Jay will be back in the seat for the next road course race.

"I watched the interview and it was dead obvious that Jay bit his tongue on several questions about his status with Roth Racing. You could see where he wanted to say something or how he really felt, but took a second to think about how to diplomatically answer each question.
You could also sense his frustration when asked if he was going to go to Iowa this weekend when he said no and when asked if he was learning anything from John, Jay did not even answer the question.
When asked about his relationship with Larry Curry, you could also sense tension there as well but Jay did compliment Curry as knowing what he is doing and organizing the team.
When asked when he would be back in the car? Jay gave no answer except "hopefully soon"
Nice to hear that Ron Dixon is trying to help Jay "further his career" and believes that Jay, in the right equipment, would be a championship contender. Ron told Don Kay that he would put Jay on the same level as his son Scott as far as talent. Pretty intereasting stuff considering that Ron was Jay's spotter and now he spots for John.
Overall it was a pretty uncomfortable interview for Jay IMO."

Howard's better off. I really feel bad for John Andretti, having to carry Albatross Roth around his neck for the rest of the season!
Man, I can't wait until they start limiting the number of qualification spots and you have to get in on speed!
