Well, he looked decent until the crash (better than his previous starts) and ran around 10th - 11th.
On the pre-race show, he said he had "accomplished everything he wanted to in IndyCar". I think he's all but gone.
I saw after the crash where Hornish thanked his crew for helping him with "this transition". I needed to leave the room.
If I may point out "he looked decent until the crash" pretty much sums up the early years of Tomas Scheckter's IndyCar career.
it'll take even Sam Hornish a solid year of seat time to begin to compete. Nobody goes from open-wheel to stock cars and immediately has success. I'd be shocked if Sam is in the IRL next year at this pace. Good news is it will open up a real ride for someone new.
The question then becomes, will Penske setup a program for Sam or will he have to find his own ride?
