No.2 A.J. Foyt IV, Hockley, Texas, Vision Racing
The biggest headline from today’s entry list is the virtual confirmation of A.J. Foyt IV as a Vision Racing driver. Vision has yet to confirm its ’08 lineup, and there was much speculation that the squad could downsize to just one car (for Ed Carpenter) this season. - SpeedTV
Quattro looked rather competitve on ovals towards the end of last season, and the acqiblendabsormergified racing series would greatly benefit from competitive racing by anyone with a familiar name like "Foyt". Or "Andretti". Or "Rahal".

Competitive doesn't begin to cover what Quatro looked like at SPARTA! They didn't in any way televise this race, yes I'm the geek that went to the race and then watched a DVR of it. Two very different races. Somebody tell ESPN that if the stars are in lock step formation then maybe just maybe show some midpack battles--of which there were plenty. Sixth through eleventh was up for grabs the whole time, but you'd never know by watching the coverage. Michigan was much the same. The point is AJ looked damned good, but you'd never know unless you were at the race.
I think fans need to remember that while Quatro has been around a while, he'll turn 24 within a few days of the Indy 500 this year. He's quite young, by traditional racing standards, and is starting to come into his own on the ovals. Road racing success can be expected to take longer, but given his improvement last season, it wouldn't shock me if he showed improvement this season as a road racer - maybe nothing spectacular, but he'll at least look more competent. He's 23. He'll continue to improve.
Cavin wrote in his blog today that it will most likely be a three car team with Lloyd filling the third spot ala TCGR! That sounds fine to me....
I wonder if there's any more Bettenhausen's running around, of if Lloyd Ruby has any grandkids who are looking for work...
Or, you know, Dan Gurney's kid.
Potentially, this year's 500 could have an Andretti, a Foyt, a Rahal, and two Unsers (assuming Al Jr. will be back). Al's son is in the Pro Series this year and I read he was likely to do a one-off for the 500. I know Michael said he's retired, but how many times has he retired? Maybe he'll start to get that itch sometime soon.
Anthony will turn 24 on race day.
