Fisher's new ride

Concerned about the expenses involved with her IndyCar team, Sarah Fisher has taken to the more cost-effective world of elephant racing.

After being saddled with more than her share of pigs in IndyCar racing, Sarah Fisher apparently decided to climb aboard something that at least had some towing power.

She recently took a trip aboard Tombi, a 31-year-old, 14,000-pound African elephant, as part of the Indianapolis Zoo's elephant awareness days.

"She races at over 200 miles per hour and she was scared to ride on an Elephant that doesn’t even go 30 mph,” joked Tombi’s trainer."

This is actually a savvy move on Fisher's part, as Tombi is the next logical step in the current "race to make fuel" strategy sweeping the IRL. He uses no ethanol, requires no tire changes, and is unsurpassed at defending track position. Plus, he's got huge sidepods for sponsors. Win-win-win.

Is that a big stinking pile of elephant dung in the background? Or is it just the remains of #25 after a recent accident?

Yes, but would you want to be on the IRL safety team if Tombi leaves some "debris" on the track?

Plus, if Sarah is hurting for cash now, imagine the $$$$$$$$$$ it's going to cost to "fuel up" Tombi before and during a race. Not to mention you don't have to keep fueling a Dallara every day if you're not using it.

Then again, if Scott Dixon complained that Sarah was blocking, Sarah could just point to Scott and say "Tombi, CRUSH!"

So The American Mutt might vote for this idea. :^P

I once rode an elephant. Seriously. I had a strained groin for 2 weeks, as an elephant is a VERRRY wide animal and I just can't do the splits.

I'm not saying that Sarah had the same experience, but if she did... I understand.

Even on the elephant, she's probably still going faster than Milka Duno...

That Elephant would still go faster and drive less eratic than: Milko Duno, Enrinque Bernoldi, EJ Viso, Marty Roth, and Mario Moreas !!
