Politically incorrect

One of the more popular drivers in the Indy Racing League has exercised her right of citizenry by publicly endorsing one of the more prominent Presidential candidates, but since My Name Is IRL is in the business of discussing racing and not politics you will spared the name of said politician. However, you will not be spared the metaphoric hooey said by Senator -------, as quoted in the IndyStar.

“We need to get on the track in America and get toward the finish line,” ------- said.

The senator also used a driving metaphor to encourage party supporters to turn out for the general election in November.

“If you want to go forward, you put it in D; if you want to go back, you put it in R,” ------- said, urging voters to vote for Democrats instead of Republicans.

Clearly Senator ------- needs better writers. Ahem. Anyhow, back to racing.

    Actually, it gets better:

Meantime, the Fisher race team went to considerable trouble to decorate the side pods of her car with “Hillary for President” stickers. They couldn’t be used.

Members of the race team said that concerns over a possible illegal contribution prevented display of the partisan car part. As the team tore the stickers off, one of them said, “That’s okay, I’ve been in gray areas before. I used to work for Foyt!”

    “And Menards,” said another.

Crews are comedy gold, I tell ya.

here in Indy on the noon TV news they had an unnamed politician on from the garage.

they stuck a sticker on a race car but were told they would have to remove it as a safety issue...it was discover that the car would spin to the left

“If you want to go forward, you put it in D; if you want to go back, you put it in R,”

Unless you own a car with a standard (stick shift) transmission, then you want to put it in 1, 2, 3, [4], [5], [6] to go forward.

    Just sayin'

For the record, Hillary, the unmentioned driver, and her crew (as well as car) were jut on CNN.

If I were a driver or a fan of a driver, I'd be weary of ANY driver supporting Hillary or Hilary Supporting a driver.

Don't you all remember Hillary told american to bet on Eight Belles and that horse finsihed 2nd 4 and3/4 lengths back and broke her ankles and had to be euthanized !
