A reader named “Speedy” forwarded this link to the Inbox, which purports to include the greatest sports figures bearing mustaches. Speedy was concerned about the omission of 1986 Indianapolis 500 winner and 3-time CART champion Bobby Rahal, asking succinctly “Where’s the ‘Stache?”
An excellent point, although if we are talking about drivers with hair on the upper lip we need to also recall three-time Indy 500 winner Mauri Rose.
Say, is it me or does he look more than a little like this guy?
Just asking.

Jeff,
Oh sure, you could point to Mauri Rose, but this fellow with his pencil-thin moustache should not be overlooked, and he did way more for the Indy 500 than Robin Miller. Say three wins, the first back to back winner, and introducing the Hulman family to IMS.
And let us not overlook this dapper moustachioed driver named Graham who won an Indy 500 and two World Driving Championships.
So Young Master Rahal, overlook the Power of the 'Stache at your peril!
P.S. Jeff, I've read that Mauri could be a "prickly pear" personality wise, but I bet he was a peach compared to Robin.
Wilbur Shaw, also a three-time winner of the 500, had a pencil thin stache, as well. If you want to go with the fu manchu style I would vote for Mike Mosely in the early 70's and, I'm sure the Flying Hippie, Jan Opperman, had a doosy of a stache before Parnelli had it shorn off to appease the sponsors, (and Rufus Parnell, as well), also in the 70's.
