Ins and Outs at Watkins Glen

IN: Milka Duno, behind the wheel of D&R's #23 this weekend, marking her first IndyCar event on a non-oval in her 13th race. This from a person who's background is in road racing. Go figure.

OUT: Marty Roth, from the #25 car. Although Jay Howard will still race in the Roth Racing #24, Roth has elected to only compete with one car this weekend instead of doing something like letting John Andretti continue racing. Then again, maybe the TEAM payments have been altered to pay Marty to stay off the twisties.

IN: Mario Dominguez and PCM after a brief haitus (siesta?). We're still looking for a final nickname for him, although "El Ambassador" received a lot of votes. I think the leader was actually "Mexico City Sucks" but that's not exactly the preferred direction of the exercise.

OUT: Deer, on the track. For real. This isn't Road America and there's no one here named da Matta, but TSO reports the latest way in which the IndyCar series is (intenionally of not) emulating Champ Car.

IN: Franck Perera, claiming the pole position for the first of the two Indy Lights races tomorrow. He's still looking for a sponsorship packaged to jump back into the ICS, so perhaps he should consider changing his name to "Fronkensteen" so he stands out from the crowd.

Milka didn't exactly cover herself in glory today. 7.5 sec off the leader's pace doesn't exactly speak well of her road racing skills. Best thing that can be said of Milka at the moment is that she and her Hugo bucks are keeping the lights on and D&RR. Rice had a good outing, though, and it was nice to see sponsorship on his sidepod.

Wasn't Sarah Fisher closer to the top last year than Dunno??

At least Uncle Hugo's money is well-spent on EJ Viso. That's right, PDVSA is really Petróleos de Venezuela, which is the parent company of Citgo.

If we don't have a nickname for Franck Perera yet and he does make a jump into ICS I recommend the name Pay Check. It's just what I see when I look at this name. Or Johnny Paycheck. But I may be the only one who gets this.
