It's official.

Helio Castroneves won the race at Chicagoland.

Hideki Mutoh won the Bombardier Rookie of the Year.

And Milka Duno led more laps (5) than Danica Patrick (4) this season.

BAAAAA. Milkatastic! That's just the final towel in the face for Danica.

Mutoh winning the RoY over Wilson is justice, in a way. Wilson had run very few ovals, and it made sense to use a blanket qualification for rookie status for the Champ Car guys, but Wilson was NOT a rookie. Mutoh was. Good for him.

For the record, and don't take this as an endorsement for or against any driver, but didn't Danica lead four GREEN laps versus Milkas five YELLOW laps?

With six road courses on the schedule this year, and considering the fact that he's dealt with that horsepower before, NO Justin was not a rookie.

What was that you said yesterday about checking for a river of blood...

On my daily check of the site, I could not but notice how... let's call it... ironic it is that Vitor's quote leads the homepage. Do you think in a small way Fronkensteen is revelling? After checking the box score- the only place you will ever find out how most of the drivers in the series finished (rant...must...be...averted....)- looks like Fronk moved up 9 spots from 24 to 15. Not sure what AJ's plans are for next year, but at least he's giving Steen the look and Vitor's looking from the outside in. Hmmmmmmmm.

Mutt- didn't Danica! have 1 "fuel mileage" win vs., let's say, Vitor's winless season/career? I know it's not exactly the same, but in black and white laps led are indeed laps led and a win is a win. Not a dig by any means, just an observation.

ESPN blows... (insert dead horse reference here: _____)

Did anyone happen to notice in Danica's official post-race quote released by AGR, she said that her ninth place finish was disappointing as her car was faster than that. I think someone forgot to tell her she finished 10th, not 9th. And I guess somebody forgot to tell Morais he wasn't allowed to crash and ruin Danica's race.

And yes, laps led are laps led, just as a win is a win. If Danica's win counts (and it should), then so do Milka's laps led (as they should). And by the way, 2 of Milka's laps were under green, she did well, the restart she was responsible to lead was done very well (no games like usual), nobody had any problems with her, and she had a good race. It doesn't get much better than that.

Question: If Dixon's tranponder was inproperly installed by the team, it could be seen as "tampering with a timing device" and is grounds for DQ under IRL rules.
With that, then Dixon is put in 28th place and Helio is the 2008 Champ !

Is that stat real?! BWAHAHAHA! OMG... Thank you Jeff. You just made my day. (and it's been a really craptastic day so I needed that)

The ultimate irony of the whole Rookie of the Year situation is that last year's winner (Ryan Hunter-Reay) would not have been eligible under this year's rules like Oriol Servia.

Milk & Donuts "lead" 5 @ Chicago???... seemed more like 1-2 before she went back 12-15 places in less than 2 laps. Then pitted.

Let's ask new champ, Scott Dixon who he would rather deal with during an event... even with his issues with Danica I'm 100% sure he (like the rest of the IRL racers) would choose Ms. Patrick over the CITGO queen/ PR stunt in a heartbeat!
