I'm not a big Danica fan.....but DAMN
to me it says "airbrush" a thousand times over. when was the last time you saw danica hop out of her car, take off her helmet, and show off her madly-cut cheekbones to the masses? Plus, not even SI puts that much emphasis on the abs. I dunno, I guess I'm being cynical...maybe I should just appreciate it for what it is...
"I'm lovin it." Whanica looks all-grown-up now. She looks lika a toned athlete rather than a soft teenager. Apologies to The Silent Pagoda and the rest who thought that she was schwing-worthy before, but she never moved me. She always looked like... uh.. a teenager. And whenever I saw her at tracks, she was a pouty teenager, like a little sister whom you want to stay away from.
I actually like this photo of Danistar much more than others I've seen. I agree with Brian that she looks like an adult athlete. Too bad the accompanying story (which isn't bad, BTW) has ONE "Indy" in the whole thing: "At 5'2" and 105 pounds, Danica is the smallest of the Indy drivers." That's the lone Indy, IndyCar, Indy 500, Indy-anything reference. So, good for Danica's personal brand, pffft for IndyCar. Get that girl an IndyCar branded swimsuit or something.
At least the front cover says "Indy Car Driver", istead of the generic "race car driver".

The sad thing about all this is that Shape magazine is a good magazine about physical fitness. If she'd only done this article/photos/video now, I don't think there'd be all the negative comments about it. But she's got such a history of taking it off for magazines just for the sexual image, that this seems to be just one more in the pattern.
If you look at the shots for SI, then look at these shots, the body's quite different. And with magazine lead times, the photo shoots would not have been done that far apart. Airbrush, anyone?
