Let's add another Conquest

WISH TV says Conquest Racing is putting some Junk in their trunk.

Expect an official announcement from Conquest Racing tomorrow morning that they WILL field the #36 car.

And it’s a former Indy 500 pole winner you can expect to see in the ride. Bruno Junqueira, who earlier today, seemed pretty down about his prospects for a ride, has been tabbed for the seat, according to sources close to the team.

The #36 car will make 36 car and driver combinations.
Hooray for bumping! I say that knowing full well that certain members of the audience will be irked that Bruno is getting this and not 2004 Indianapolis 500 champion Buddy Rice. Buddy still has about 40-some hours to find something, right?

Also, an apology to WISH-TV as apparently they were the ones who scooped the world on Tomas Scheckter's ride with Dale Coyne Racing. I promise to rectify this by watching their channel constantly the moment I arrive Indianapolis.

Well, if Bruno has the ride....yippee!!!
Yes, he still has to qualify the car and get into the show.
But, he tried and landed the ride.
    Kudos to him!

We can hope A.J. Foyt puts Rice in his third car, but I doubt there's going to be a third car. Foyt goes on and on about his support of Americans in open-wheel racing, then doesn't hire him. Here's his chance.

I did want Servia, Junqueira, and Scheckter in the field, and now I think Rice is the ONLY glaring omission. I understand why Servia, Junqueira, and Scheckter were hired first; I think they're better drivers, lack of Indy wins aside. Rice had one great year where he had a far superior car, while those three specific foreign drivers have done more with less. All four of them deserve full-time rides more than a lot of people who have them, though. As far as American drivers are concerned, I don't understand KV hiring Townsend Bell before Rice...at all.

I meant to say then doesn't hire THEM, not hire him regarding Foyt. I just think he could do better with several American drivers than he did with Manning last year or Meira this year.
