And the verdict is....

Anyone think there would be points implications after the Hornish/Kanaan fracas? Think again.

Team Penske and Andretti Green Racing have been fined $25,000 each for unsportsmanlike conduct on pit road as cars returned immediately after the checkered flag.

Drivers Tony Kanaan of Andretti Green Racing and Sam Hornish Jr. of Team Penske have been fined an unspecified amount for their actions.

In addition, the league announced that Anthony Fedele has had his league-issued hard card, which was granted through Andretti Green Racing, and credential request opportunities suspended indefinitely. Sam Hornish Sr. has been suspended from pit lane for one race.

In addition, the teams, the drivers and Hornish Sr. have been placed on probation until Dec. 31.
Hang on a sec: Sam’s Daddy gets a one race suspension (and probation?) for shoving a driver, but this Fedele guy gets suspended indefinitely for jumping Sam’s Daddy. What?

And didn't Sam say Tony's chop bent a toe link on the #6 car on pit re-entry? Doesn't that demand something like a one lap penalty? Or taking away Tony's golf cart privledges? Or at least a cake in the face, right?

Looks like the Gentle Hand of Tolerance strikes again.

It would seem the familial relation is what saved Sam's Pop from indefinite banning.

Both sides got off real easy imho.

Have I ever told you that Scott Dixon was inches from running me over with his Target moped on Carb Day 2006? I am not exaggerating one bit. I don’t know why I’m bringing this up now.

I think that they all got off kind of easy. I rewound and watched the whole thing several times and in slow speed and I do think TK’s boy deserved something more severe than Sam, Sr. However, I still don’t understand how TK is maintaining that he wasn’t going to get physical when he did … didn’t they see him smack Sam’s helmet?

He didn't smack Sams helmet until after being pushed around. Doesn't excuse it, but it makes sense that after being pushed around by Daddy he'd want to smack Sam around a little. Just sayin'.

IHJ becomes the Soft Hand of Dad...

also I think the whole incident has to be viewed in the context of the racing incidents, as Tony and Sam were banging wheels at least three different times, including a great blast when they both went sideways into the bus stop chicane
