It's election season, so View from the Hairpin is considering starting a campaign of it's own.
Not everything was good (at Homestead), however, as it is still plainly evident that Milka Duno is not capable of controlling an IndyCar on an oval for a full race. The problem is that Townsend Bell doesn't have enough sponsorship to run a full season in Dreyer & Reinbold's 2nd car. Thus, Milka gets to run the other races with her Citgo sponsorship. I'm thinking about starting a "Park Milka" campaign in order to get Mr. bell the necessary backing he needs to displace Milka and send her back to the type of racing she's good at: sportscars. I'll check around for pertinent figures as well as D&R's mailing address and post more info when I find it. I harbor no personal animosity towards Ms. Duno, by the way, I just think that she needs to leave the whole "female IndyCar driver" thing to those who are good at it, like Danica Patrick and Sarah Fisher.OK then. We know Robin and Oreo will be first in line.
Couldn't agree with you more. Now that IRL has some decent sponsorship coming in... Citgo means less and less as far as I am concerned.
She should go over to ALMS.
Milka Duno/Dreyer & Reinbold contend that the crash was actually caused by Franck Perera:

well Duno just can't do the ovals maybe she can handle it on roadcourses but i hope D&R can find some real sponsors but lets face it 2008 is the last year for Duno.
Citgo would rather just switch all there sponsorship to Viso who actually can drive
D & R are embarassing themselves, lol. Let her get on probation and get grounded by the Irl! How long can this go on? She could kill herself or someone else, it's just silly.
Yeah, the IRL doesn't need her, so they don't have to think twice about benching her. I could never figure out why the hello she is driving on the ovals. If she's gonna run a partial season, run the road/street courses. That's what her background is anyways. She has a great personality and all, and she's great with the fans, but she took out a Penske car. Don't mess with the big boys.
Whoever is deciding the crash was Milka's fault has access to video that I don't. I think this "ban Milka" stuff is a little unfair. I don't think she was any more lethal than the Champ Car drivers at Homestead who have about the same level of experience she has. And the IRL isn't so flush with cash that they can show ANY driver with sponsorship the door.
I'm on Milka's side with this one
Perera took the air off her car when he darted across in front of her and she lost it
Milka needs to trust the car and get that right foot down flat
That's the single-most helpful thing anyone can tell her
I might have been quick to judge, without watching the replays enough. However, on Curt Cavin's radio show tonight, he asked Barnhart about the incident. Barnhart said Milka was going to make a pass on the outside and her car "got a little higher than she wanted it to". He didn't seem to concerned, so maybe it was "just one of those things". Not necessarily a driver error, as much as it is a lack of superior setup. Then again, a driver should know the car's limitations. It's a back and forth argument. I love Milka's personality, like I said. I won't be so quick to jump to conclusions.

I love ALMS & IRL !!
Milka should go back to Grand-(sh)AM racing!
I would like to see CITGO gas station activated their sponsorship !!
