The intrepid Curt Cavin has arranged for the first annual “Carb Night Burger Bash”, which he says is not only a great value ($6 for burger, fries, shake) but should also include “a driver or two”.
Date: Friday, May 23.
Time: 6:30 to 10 p.m.
Site: 96th Street Steakburgers, Metropolis outdoor mall, Plainfield, Ind.
Invitations/tickets/cost: None (just show up, eat and talk racing).
Ages: All.
Food: Burgers, fries and soft drinks purchased from restaurant's menu.
Donations: Auction and donation opportunities TBA (one tied to the restaurant's award-winning milkshakes).
Non-profit groups benefiting: St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf, Mooresville Christian Academy.
Full disclosure: your humble host is completely unable to resist the words “Steak” and “burger” when combined. Seriously, there are no bad “steakburgers”. Once that Stone Temple Pilots show is done...oh yes, we will definitely be there.

I'll be there! Seein' as my apartment is only a couple miles away..
I really think that Cavin is going to be overwhelmed with how many people are going to show-up for this thing. I don't think he has a guess about this own celebrity.
I plan to enjoy the steakburger with cheese.

Jeff,
The burger and fries sound good, but I don't know if I could eat an entire driver. I mean, if it's a big burger, I might be full by the time they bring out a grilled driver smothered in BBQ sauce.
Oh, wait, nevermind.
I hope to make it to this, but I don't know exactly when I'm getting in to Indianapolis on Friday. If I make it, hope to see you all there.
I for one, will not be there. We go directly from the carb day festivities to the camp ground, which for those of you that do camp, is NOT on G-Town. If coming from out of town AND camping I will let you in on it. It is a great place, fenced as to not warrant the vagrants walking through.
I'll be there, too - I'm bringing the significant other to his first 500 (my third). Jennifer, I absolutely agree that Cavin will be blown away by the number of people showing up. We're snacking beforehand just in case the line to get burgers is 200 deep. :)
zappatista, is that campground "turn 2 indy"? we have been there the past few years. works better than lot 3 pavement. I doubt if we get to the CNBB because of the lack of a ride, but I am sure it will be packed.
