A warm greeting to all mothers out there, including my own ("HI MOM!!!") and the mother of my children. Take the day off and rest because you've got another labor-intensive 364 ahead of you.
There are no mothers entered at Indy, so for the remaining drivers today might as well be considered "P12 Day" since that's the aim. Conversely, it's also "Don't be P23 Day" because that means you have to come back next week and try, try again.
As you all know yesterday was "Pole Day" and congratulations go to everyone's favorite weeping fence climber, Helio Castroneves, for claiming his third Pole at Indianapolis. I believe he received a $100,000 check for that accomplishment, so expect that income to be declared in expedient fashion.
Of note, there were six different teams making it into the Top 11 yesterday, although Panther Racing and Luczo Dragon - who qualified on Pole Day last year - were not among them. Also, one driver in the Big Three didn't make it, which means Hideki Mutoh didn't get to use the AGR-approved catchphrase in the press release.
Marco Andretti - "...I'm not completely satisfied with were we ended up in today's qualifying, but we just have to put it behind us..."
Tony Kanaan - "...I'm glad that qualifying is behind us; now it's time to move on and focus on race set ups."
Danica Patrick - "...I'm relieved to have Pole Day behind us so we can work on building a strong race car."
Sadly, none of these drivers mentioned how they used their tools.
In addition to Mutoh there are some prominent names out there waiting to qualify today. Dan Wheldon, Paul Tracy, Scott Sharp, Vitor Meira, Justin Wilson, Ed Carpenter, Ryan Hunter-Reay, EJ Viso, Davey Hamilton, John Andretti, and Sarah Fisher - one of whom will have to come back and try, try again next week.
In the meantime, Sarah Fisher wants to take a moment to talk to you about racing around to make ends meet.
So, What Did I Miss?

RE: That's Not My Name: I prefer this version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHeGX0wqazs
Furthermore, should Dario choose to resume his aerial acrobatics in Indycar this might be an apt theme song for him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VW0_kTYvARc
So for commercials involving sponsor activation, Sarah Fisher is queen. I saw the Aamco one during so many Penguin games it wasn't funny. She really knows how to market herself correctly and to top it off, she does it with class.
Kudos to Sarah for it.
I will gladly volunteer my services to Sarah Fisher and do a little workshop on, "Commercials: Effective use of hands."
