"I got a few wolf whistles from guys...If I have to walk around in a pink suit for everyone to notice it, it's fine by me." - Alex Lloyd, (a.k.a. "Pink Lloyd") who despite not racing an IndyCar since last year's Indianapolis 500 managed to qualify 11th today, bumping past drivers like Paul Tracy and Hideki Mutoh.
Remember the color and the name. 2007 Indy Lights champ Alex Lloyd.
An Unexpected Turn of Events

It is probably a good thing that I had already said that there would be no
post here on Monday. The plan was that I wanted to be a slug all weekend
and wat...

That car is hideous! Although, well done getting her in on the first day. (no pun intended)
Pink Lloyd! Brilliant!
I love that car. I don't know why men are so afraid of pink.
I thought that car was really yucky pink in photos, even though I'd willing driving it to be in the 500myself. However, on TV, it's pretty cool. I'm getting to really like it, and I'm really rooting for Pink Lloyd. That name's going to stick regardless of the color of car he races in the future.
It's not that I'm afraid of pink. It's the SHADE of pink. It's like it was dipped in Pepto Bismol. I have to say, it does stand out though, which I guess is the point.
Consider how much "buzz" has been created for the "HER" car because of the color. Isn't that what promotion is all about?
Let us not forget Emerson Fittipaldi drove a pink car his first trip to the brickyard
I will totally be on the lookout for HER energy drink now. And as long as it does not contain aspertaime I will buy several cans.
I've thought for years that Victora's Secret should get in on some sponsorship and have a black and hot pink car. It would look awesome.
^^The Aerosmith/ Jeff Ward car was Black & Pink
The odd things about this H.E.R. sponsorship...
(1) IMO the Pepto Bismol Pink color seems to be an attempt to "man-up" the shade of pink? Personally I'd go for the driver suit color.
(2) I like the PINK 99... but one of my favorite car liveries of all time is the Silk Cut Jaguar XJR-14. It was purple & magenta... kind of in the same color family???
(3) I thought that H.E.R. was a WOMAN's energy drink... formulated to a female body chemistry... YET, Pink (Alex) Lloyd was drinking it in the post qualifying interview. Hopefully my original info was wrong or insert Manny Ramirez joke here!!! :) :) :)
