This looks like a job for Danger Mouse

Yesterday, after noting that Mike Conway had managed to crash on each of the four of the tracks in the IndyCar schedule thusfar , I quipped if it was too early to start a Darren Manning rumor. According to Robin Miller, it is not.

Look for Darren Manning to replace Mike Conway, who crashed heavily Sunday morning and suffered a bruised lung. Manning, who ran the first two races of 2009 for Dreyer & Reinbold, got a call from Dennis Reinbold and had his seat in Gasoline Alley by Sunday night...
Meanwhile Conway is convalescing at a local hospital, recovering from a bruised lung. The D&R team, via twitter, has said he's " cracking jokes at Methodist hospital last night. Feeling well this morning...sore of course."

I asked Darren yesterday how mike was doing and he said that he's ok and would be back "tomorrow". Mabey something has changed

It's not working out for Conway, and DM is on hand - why wouldn't you make the switch, whether Mike was fit or not? I'd like to see them both run the rest of the season, somehow, but if I was a team owner and could only have one, well...

    Danger Mouse gets my vote.

Neither, Buddy Rice deserves that ride more than both of them. I would even take Jaques Lazier or Tomas Sheckter before Darren.

Kohl, I couldn't have said it better myself.

But where is Buddy? Is he at Indianapolis with his helmet, or in Phoenix? If he's still in Phoenix, then I doubt he's too interested in running the 500 this year.

I'm sure Buddy is at the Speedway. He just is not a PR savvy person. He's an old school driver that comes to the track to race. Racing is becoming more like American Idol every day. It's not about talent but more about who smiles the prettiest for the cameras.

Actually, Robin Miller reported Buddy is at his home in Phoenix, and that he wants to be paid to drive. Not saying he shouldn't be, just letting you know.

Really? And here I heard Buddy Rice was at IMS this last weekend. Guess we need to get someone to start snooping around for answers.

Mike Conway...Buddy Rice. Mike Conway...Buddy Rice. Mike Conway.

Fine. You get what you pay for. You're going to pay one way or the other.

Anna is right- do you pay for Mike to keep crashing or do you pay Buddy a former 500 winner to field your car and hope for a top 15 finish.
