"When I made the deal with Ryan, I had told him he'd have a ride for the rest of the season because I didn't really know if Vitor would be ready. And even though Vitor has been cleared to drive, the more I thought about it, I don't think having his first race back being at Miami is the best thing for Vitor. There's a lot of risk and not that much to be gained. We want to get a good start on 2010 with Vitor and do more testing over the winter so I think it's in all of our interests to have him focus on next year." - AJ Foyt, signaling the official end to Vitor Meira's season, and saying that if the #14 is going to get wadded up at Homestead then he'd much rather have Vision Racing's Ryan Hunter-Reay in the cockpit.
So, What Did I Miss?

It's a shame for Vitor, but probably for the best in the long run.
Is there any word about what Hunter-Reay is doing next year?
When I first heard this news I was worried/happy that this might mean that Vitor was being bounced from the car not just for this year but also next in favor of RHR. Which would be both blessing and curse since, until JRH gets to the big cars, these two are my favorite drivers in the series. Now that I read this, I am happy/worried in the other direction. Good for Vitor, but with what tony george has said about sponsorship for next year, vision will be lucky to get Ed in a car next year. Hopefully, this Apex Brasil thing finally comes through and Vitor can find some sponsorhip through that that would allow AJ to run him in one car with those colors and RHR in the other with ABC colors.
